Come Visit Us
Many people are confused about what a church service is like. In today's society a growing number of Kiwis have not even set foot inside a church building, except for a wedding or funeral. Therefore, we put together this little section in order to help you understand what to expect when you come to one of our Sunday Services, and also to let you know what is available for your family. We warmly welcome everyone and anyone - regardless of faith, situation in life, age - to any of our services and can provide free transportation if you need it - just ring us or contact us via email. Let us encourage you to set aside a time this week to check us out.
Sunday School for all ages - 3pm
Would you like your child to learn the Bible but can't make it to church yourself? We have a number of kids who get picked up for Sunday School and dropped off after class. We would be more than happy to provide transportation for your child to and from Sunday School - contact us to make arrangments
Primary School Class for children 3-7 years old
A fun time of Bible stories and crafts in a safe and educational environment.
Teen Sunday School for teens aged 13-19 years old
A place where teens learn about the Biblical response to life's issues. At the MBBC we realise the challanges our young people face in today's society and we do our best to equip them to live a victorius Christian life.
Adult Sunday School for adults aged 20+
A deeper and more advanced verse-by-verse Bible Study for adults.
Main Service - 4pm
Our Main Service starts at 4:00pm and lasts for roughly an hour. We love to sing praises to God at this time as well as hear a great message from the Bible preached by one of our men. We sing conservative hymns which are strong on the melody and not the beat (Ephesians 5:19) and, most importantly, glorify the Lord. Rather than a "worship team" up front, we have song leader and use instruments which don't stir up the flesh, but rather help us worshop God "in spirit and in truth". If you have any questions you can usually catch either Pastor Williams or Pastor Morgan after the service who will be more than happy to answer them for you.
See also our Frequently Asked Questions for more information about our services, including our music policy.
Evening Meal - 5pm (following our main service)
Between our main and evening service we have a bring-a-plate, shared dinner in the fellowship hall. There is always plenty of food and we would encourage you to stay and chat with us over tea.
Crèche
During Sunday school and main service we have a number of young families in attendance and as such, offer a fully staffed, well equipped, and clean Crèche for your 0-3 year old. Most of our volunteers are young mums themselves and all of them love kids. If you would like to, you are welcome to drop your child off at the beginning of each service where they will be cared for and allow you to take part in the service without distraction.
We understand how precious your child is to you and therefore we take the greatest pride in our crèche ministry. For more information click here.
Evening Service 6pm
Join us for an evening of singing, praise, and testimonies about what God has done in our lives, with a great teaching message to follow. We also have "Bible Question Time" which is another highlight of our service. During Bible questions Pastor takes questions from the congregation and attempts to give answers straight from the Bible.
Commonly Asked Questions
What Do I Do As A Visitor?
You don't have to do anything! Of course, we would love to have you sing with us as we worship God (hymn books with music and words are provided) but don't let a frog in your throat put you off coming along! You can expect a warm welcome, especially during the main service, but you will not be called out or embarrassed in any way.
Is there an offering for money?
We don't take an offering during the service as some churches do. Instead, we have a box on the table in the foyer where those who wish to tithe or give to a different church program (missions etc) are free to do so. We find that God has blessed this system and it avoids having to embarrass our visitors or giving the impression of greed.
So why not join us this Sunday? We would love to have you come and check out our services. Perhaps you have questions about God or the Bible? We would be happy to help in any way we can. Transport is available if you need it, so please drop in this Sunday.
